New resource to better support children with additional needs
A new online learning hub for early childhood education and care providers has been launched to help providers support children with a disability and/or complex additional needs.

The Early Years Connect website has been funded by the Queensland Government and will be delivered by Early Childhood Australia, C&K and Autism Queensland. Although the resource has been developed in Queensland it is freely available to early childhood providers across the country.

The website provides early childhood educators with tools and tips to support children with additional needs and provides a flexible online learning space that enables educators to study where and when they want.

The goal of the resource is to empower early childhood educators by enriching their skills and knowledge through professional learning and development designed and delivered by experts in the field.

Available resources include training modules, blogs and information sheets about inclusive practices, disability support and transdisciplinary practice (working collaboratively with other professionals) and the developers say that the website's one-stop-shop approach helps educators provide high quality outcomes for children with a disability and complex additional needs.

For more information, or to sign up to the online training modules, visit the Early Years Connect website or stay up to date by joining the Early Years Connect discussion group on Facebook.
