Welcome, feeling worn out? This week Nicole Halton from Inspired EC explains how reflective practice can help overcome feelings of exhaustion and gives you an opportunity to win a Reflective Journal. Also, now's the time to pull out your Sun Safety Policy and ensure you are operating in line with best practice.
Using reflective practice to banish burnout
This article on using reflective practice to banish burnout was written by Nicole Halton the co-founder of Inspired EC.

Are you tired? Not just tired, but exhausted? Burnout. In the last eighteen months, burnout has become a feature of many early education and care settings - perhaps more so than it has ever been.

Keep reading for your opportunity to win one of Nicole's gorgeous reflective journals…
Be sun smart this summer
Are you familiar with your service's sun smart policy? The Government requires that all ECEC services have a sun protection policy in place, and that all staff be made aware of it.

As an ECEC educator, you need to know:
  • why the policy is being implemented
  • when sun protection needs to be used
  • what sun protection measures are required (hats, clothing, sunscreen, shade and, if practical, sunglasses)
  • how to model sun safety to the children in your care
