Working with children is not just a job but a passion of mine. Seeing children learn and develop and being able to help them through this every step of the way is something I love, and I chose from a very young age to focus my skills in.

My current goal is to find a new position with a family in which I can feel at home and develop my skills.

I am extremely ambitious and want to be able to use my full potential in order to set a high standard for my place of work. I also want the opportunity to be able to grow my skills and learn new things in order to drive my career forward.

After travelling I have returned to McMahon’s. I still enjoy my work here and although am not in any rush to move I feel the time has come for me to try and grow my skills and forward my career in a new environment.

Little Village gave me a great opportunity to see other pre-schools and how they operate.

I used the opportunity to pick up new skills and ideas to take back to my full-time job with McMahons Point.

This was my first position within a day care away from McMahon’s Point and was a very different environment for me.I loved the work but it was never a settled environment as the children were in care while the family were on holiday. This created an environment where making children comfortable was absolutely key. I feel like this taught me valuable skills, both within life (such as living away from home) and at work and working autonomously.

My duties here included:

• Setting up developmentally appropriate experiences

• Helping children to feel safe and secure in an unknown place/ out of normal routine and environment.

• Preparing full meals

• Cleaning tasks in centre

• Comfortable as possible for children out of routine on holidays and out of their comfort zone -

• Decorations and setting up for special events (Christmas in July, Fathers day etc)

• Answering calls and taking enrolments/ bookings.
