Cover Letter
I have extensive babysitting and nannying experience. I would love to be given the opportunity to travel to WA for a nannying position, to meet a new family and explore the area.
I have a very friendly demeanor and enjoy working with children and together with parents to create the best environment and routine for the children to grow and learn in. I have highly developed organisational skills, independence and initiative and pride myself for my effective use of this skill set. I'm very willing to help out where needed, with a can do attitude and a fun outlook on life.
Due to covid-19, my plans and employment (nannying) overseas in London were upturned, resulting in my return to Australia, therefore I am available and eager to start work immediately.
I appreciate you taking the time to read through and consider my application, I would be grateful to have the opportunity to speak with you further about the position.
About Me...
I am a very confident, reliable, trustworthy and hardworking person with very good people skills. I am a very honest and well mannered person, and I pride myself on being neat, presentable, and prompt at all times.
I have very good initiative and awareness of things around me, I am able to follow instructions and complete tasks to the desired standard whilst being able to work independently as well as cooperatively with others.
I am a very capable cook and enjoy making new recipes and healthy meals. I also love baking. I have undertaken general nursery duties in many of my positions, I have very good multitasking skills. I am efficient in the work that I do, getting things done in a logical and timely manner. I enjoy spending time with children, playing and learning with them. I am a fun but firm nanny, I believe it is important for children to learn good manners and gain independence but also deserve a lot of love, attention and have plenty of fun in their day.
Employment
January - March
Nanny
Private Family
I was a full time live-in Nanny in London for a family with 2 young boys (2.5 and 4.5). I got the children up each morning, fed them breakfast and got them dressed. I drove them to school and nursery each day, I would then complete nursery duties and/or errands for the family. After nursery/school pick up I took them to afternoon clubs and activities (swimming, little gym, tennis). I cooked all meals and snacks for the children and occasionally for the whole family. I would often take the children through bathtime and bed routines by myself but would occasionally be assisted by a parent. I kept the children's play areas clean and tidy, their toys organised and managed their laundry each day.
March 2018 to Dec 2019
Nanny
Private Family
I nannied for a family 2-3 nights a week for an 8 and 10 year old (between March 2018- December 2019). I picked the children up from school and drove them to after school activities, I assisted the family with household chores such as laundry, general cleaning, food prep and cooking. I occasionally proxy parented the children by myself when business required the parents to leave town.
March 2017 - May 2017
Short Term Nanny
I completed a short term position as a nanny for a professional family with two young children (1.5 and 3). It was a live in Nanny position. I was required to help with morning routine, drop off and pickup from pre-school each day, take them to extra curricular activities and clubs, and general nursery duties, along with cooking/preparing the children's meals each day.
2014- Present
Ad hoc Nannying
Private Families
I began ad hoc nannying for various families around my hometown when I was 14. There were a few regular families I nannied for, I had 3 children (18 months, 3, 7) I would help out for a few hours up to a full day a few times a week during the year of 2018. I had 2 children (5 and 7 ) after school 2 nights a week for a 6 month period in 2016. Over my time I have cared for many children with varying ages between 18 months - 12 years old, I have had up to 3 children at one time on my own. I have done mostly sole charge positions, but have also at times worked alongside parents.
2017
Learning assistant
