Role included maintaining function of the household through tidying, laundry etc while being in sole charge of the children. Main responsibility was engaging children in play, and maintaining structure and routine within the household for both the children and parents’ benefit. As the role developed I took on more responsibility within the household. This included organizing play dates and children’s birthday parties, doing family grocery shopping, cleaning of household, cooking meals, and working with parents to assist the family in any way needed.

The key responsibilities of this role were aiding the room leader in providing care for children; setting up structured play, providing for general needs of infants including food, nappies, following sleep routines, etc. I was also involved in the writing of daily reports for the general room and individually for the children, and assisting in monthly observations in accordance with the National Quality Framework.
I was also responsible for running age-appropriate activities for the children including sensory play, fine and gross motor skills, and free creativity through arts and crafts.
4 months were spend in the infants’ room (0-2yrs), 4 months in the toddlers’ room (2-3yrs), in conjunction with frequent time spent assisting in the 3-5yr old room and the afterschool program for children from the local primary school

- Strength in multi-tasking gained through managing multiple children at once, and maintaining function of centre/household
- Conversational proficiency in the Swedish language, acquired through 10 months of living in the country
