2004 – Present Venturer Scout Leader
At present I am not with a scout group although I can run meetings for adolescents aged 14-18. In a meeting we can organise activities that are going to occur throughout the term for example, indoor rock-climbing, waterskiing, hikes (walking or bicycle riding), canoeing.
There are also meetings that can happen with other scout groups in the area to discuss what has been happening over an amount of time and what is going to happen in the future and also organise any badge-work (the venturers do certain activities to improve their skills or learn a new skill to earn a badge.) that needs to be done. This then leads to gaining a Queen Scout Award once they turn 18.
To become a leader I did a training course specific to the Venturer age group (14-18).

2000-2001 Secretary for Venturer Scout Group
During formal meetings I would record what was taking place during the meeting and what was being said. This was for a group of about 15 venturers which I was at the time. These minutes would then be read out at the next meeting so that we knew what had transpired over the course of the term.

2000 and 2008 Cub Scout Assistant
I was a Cub helper (ages 8-10) for 6 months in 2000 and have been helping again since the beginning of this year. I help the leader by running activities whilst they are busy organizing other activities to run. I would also help with opening and closing the meeting. I also get the cubs to do badge-work so that they can gain new skills and further skills they already may have to benefit them in later life. There are approximately 15 cubs at the moment.
