Thoughout my time with Abracadabra Childcare Services I have worked for private families as a solecharge Nanny and as an event childcare worker for company events / conferences.  I have also worked for families who have received funding for Foster & Kinship Care to offer them some respite and for Defence Community Help Line assisting parents who are sick and in need of in-home childcare assistance.  I have been responsible for the care and supervision of children ranging in age from newborn to teenage years where my duties have included changing nappies, settling, feeding, nuturing, engaging and interacting with the children on all levels and ensuring the children's safety at all times.  Below is some of the families I have worked for:

Various Private Families

Caring for children ranging in age from newborn to teenage age years where I have been responsible for getting the children up and ready for the day, preparing breakfast, school drop off and pick up, organising fun daily outings and age appropriate activities, arts and crafts, stories and reading, attending after school activities / sports & lessons. All associated household duties in relation to the children and assisting with the smooth running of the household.

2004 - 2017
Home Educator

I have taught my children from Kinder to Year 10.  My eldest child has gone to University and my second child is attending college.  I continue to teach grade 5 and grade 6 children.  My 14 year old son was very sick and by school standard, would not have been able to achieve much.  With much love and compassion, I was able to teach hime numeracy and literacy and he is up to date with his year level.

I have tailored my children's (my own children and other children in my care) learning based on their individual needs and cognitive skills.  As a result, I have observed great and gradual improvements in their ability to:

  • concentrate and take responsibility
  • build conflict resolution skills
  • show respect to peers, siblings and parents and elders
  • be honest
  • be self-motivated and show more interest in learning
  • increased self confidence and co-operation with others

Feedback from Families

"Thank you for arranging the in-home childcare support for the ADF Member at such short notice, on a Sunday night of a long weekend.  I just spoke to the mother of the children and she reported that Rani was amazing and she was really thankful of the support she provided.  I was hoping you could pass on our appreciation to Rani, the little girl is now well enough to return to childcare, we would definitely have her back again."
