Children’s Nanny | Babysitter
Responsibilities have been varied during this time, having been adaptable to individual household, parents and children’s needs. Duties have incorporated the following aspects (but not limited to):
• Hours of work – Long Day Care (Example: 7am to 7pm | timing has moved as required). Taking sole charge of children in the absence of parents.
• Affectionally cared for children ranging in age from new born through to primary school.
• Communicating with parents to ensure a clear and accurate understanding of their preferences regarding childcare is maintained at all times.
• Providing care for children by feeding, washing and dressing them and supervising their learning activities through reading and play.
• Organising, making, and serving children their meals along with nutritious snacks whilst maintaining appropriate routines and sleep times.
• Modelling appropriate social behaviours and encouraging concern for others.
• Supervising children whilst parents are away on holidays, business trips, and weekend getaways. Staying in the home ensuring minimal disruption to routine and home comforts for the children.
• Sparking creativity and imagination, helping children discover new learnings each day.
• Changing infant and toddler nappies.
• Sterilising infant equipment such as milk bottles and pacifier’s.
• Taking children to the beach and park to provide enjoyment and exercise.
• Safeguarding children against potential conflicts and dangers, such as kitchen utensils, poisons and stairways.
• Commuting with children to and from school and other activities, outings, and appointments.
• Helping school age children with homework and school projects.
• Engaging with children through active play, such as games, puzzles and story time.
• Watching over homework assignments requisite for school.
• Caring for and maintaining family and children’s belongings.
• Carefully applying first aid as required including administering medication as directed by medical practitioners and at the permission of parents.
