Gungahlin Child Care & Early Learning Campus Overview

Gungahlin Montessori Academy is an exceptional Montessori long day care catering to children aged 0 - 6 years. The campus is located at Suite One, Level One, Gungahlin Marketplace 33 Hibberson St, Gungahlin ACT 2912.

Most unique about Gungahlin Montessori Academy, is our scientifically based approach to learning that is focused on the holistic development of the child. We believe that every child is a natural born scientist, and that the world is their laboratory.

Through the Montessori Method of Education, we deliver hands-on learning experiences tailored to each unique child. We believe that our role as Montessori Educators is to provide our students with the educational support, learning opportunities, and tools that they need to master the knowledge and skills that will help them achieve their full potential.

Ultimately, our goal is to activate each child's own "inner teacher" so that they actively participate and embrace education as a foundation for life. Centre philosophy

Montessori education is a personalised approach developed by Dr Maria Montessori, proven successful for over a century. It tailors learning to each child's style, stage, and interests, fostering academic and well-being foundations through hands-on experiences and real-world problem-solving. Montessori educators observe children's interests and guide them toward relevant materials for purposeful and engaging learning. This method acknowledges diverse learning paces and preferences, promoting respect, independence, and freedom for children to direct their own learning, leading to high motivation and a love for learning.

Dear Amelia, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We have an open-door policy and encourage all parents to voice and work through any concerns with us. We note that your child has not attended Montessori Academy since December 2021, so your feedback reflects your experience from last year. Children's health, safety, and happiness are our top priorities. We have discussed your feedback with the educators and the centre manager, and they have informed us that your daughter was having trouble settling in between starting in childcare, and Gungahlin Montessori Academy being a newly opened centre with growing staff within the service. It takes most children anywhere between 6-12 weeks to settle into a new early learning environment and build relationships with their educators and peers. While this may be distressing, we are confident that our educators went to every effort to ensure your daughter was comforted and feeling supported in the transition. We are confident that there were never any reportable incidents to which you were not informed of, as our procedure is to contact families within a 5-minute timeframe to report incidents. We are sorry that you feel our childcare service was not meeting your family’s expectations. Our service has made strides towards becoming an established and leading childcare provider in the local area and present-day families experience is pleasant. Should you have any additional feedback, feel free to contact our Family Care Team on 1300 000 162. Kind regards, Montessori Academy
