Programs
Day One Early Learning offers a bespoke program tailored to each child’s interests and needs. Using natural indoor and outdoor play spaces, the program is embedded into the daily routine and aids the children in their play and exploration.
The programs include:
- DO Social: the children develop their emotional intelligence, resilience and cultural awareness, all important lifelong skills. The children learn empathy, emotional regulation and conflict resolution among other skills.
- DO Health: through different physical activities, such as dancing, running, climbing and sports, the children build healthy physical activity habits. They also learn about food, nutrition and general wellbeing.
- DO Language: focusing on early literacy skills, the children develop their understanding of language. They develop their vocabulary and understanding of sounds and letters, as well as foreign language where appropriate.
- DO Maths and Science: hands-on experiments encourage the children’s investigative thinking, giving them crucial logical reasoning skills.
- DO Creative: art, music and movement activities teach the children about creative self-expression, also encouraging their confidence, communication skills and self-esteem.
- DO Planet: the children learn to respect and care for the natural environment through sustainability and outdoor activities.
- DO Kindy: prepares the older children for their transition to primary school in all areas of their development.

Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
In recognition of the people parents play in their child’s development, the educators at Day One Early Learning get to know the families. They take time to understand each child’s home routine, how they approach learning and what their unique needs are. They do so in partnership with families to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
Day One Early Learning believes that parent communication should be meaningful. There is a mutual respect between educators and families, understanding the important role each plays in the children’s lives. The educators communicate openly with parents, in a platform that can be easily and securely accessed.
Families are also encouraged to share their culture, experiences, food and stories with the centre. This enhances their own child’s sense of belonging while also introducing the other children to new cultures outside of their own. This cultural exchange is a wonderful part of the program, benefitting the children, families and educators.
The centre has an open door policy and parents are invited to attend excursions, incursions and other events at the centre.
