Our Rooms
- 0-2 YEARS (BABIES) - Leaving a baby in childcare can be a stressful time for parents. When the child isn’t old enough to communicate their needs or likes and dislikes, it is often difficult for parents to imagine anyone else being able to look after their baby. Our dedicated baby room staff with help you through this and make you feel at ease about leaving your baby in our care. Our babies use full-size cots for rest-time with their own bedding provided, and our nappy change facilities ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained at all times. Each room has its own cot room with security cameras to protect and monitor the children whilst they are asleep. (This footage can only be viewed within the centre). At Moore Park we can offer your baby a calm, loving and supportive environment that allows them to thrive.
- 2-3 YEARS (TODDLERS) - This room offers busy toddlers a chance to play and learn with age appropriate toys in a safe and secure environment. Designed with little fingers in mind, all of the facilities are safe for toddlers. Our carers love working with toddlers and engage the children in a variety of programmed activities that allow them to explore their creativity and physical abilities as well as encouraging them to interact with other children.
- 3-5 YEARS (PRE SCHOOLERS - In the preschool room there is a more structured environment. Our Preschool Program is facilitated by appropriately qualified and experienced teachers who through our school readiness program assist the children by preparing them for their transition to school. Interest based activities encouraging children to learn with programmed group times of music, movement and language are all designed to help the Pre-schoolers become self-confident and positive little people. At Moore Park Children’s we believe that every child deserves, and needs, a solid foundation for school. A good quality “preschool program” will equip your child with all of the basic skills they need to succeed at school and the confidence they need to be happy. It will help them to form friendships and understand the expectations placed on them at school and help them to feel more comfortable in their new surroundings.
Our Library
At Moore Park Children’s Early Learning Centre we have always maintained a fully stocked and age appropriate resource of books. One of the primary aims of Moore Park Children’s Early Learning Centre is to introduce books and encourage children to pick up a book and come back to it again. We commence this in the earliest age group with more sophisticated books introduced to the older children.
Our Potter Street centre has a room dedicated as a Library with different classrooms visiting throughout the week. The teacher reads an appropriate book to the children and then encourages them to find a book of interest to themselves.
Books are also displayed in all classrooms with teacher readings and time set aside to appreciate the books. This will assist the children in their pre-reading and early literacy development, which will assist them for when they go to school.

Our Educators and Curriculum
Our Educators and Curriculum
Moore Park Children’s Early Learning Centre boasts a dedicated team of passionate, long-term educators who specialize in providing top-notch care and education for children. We take great pride in our educators' extensive tenure and their qualifications, ranging from Cert III, Diploma, to ECT (Early Childhood Teacher). Our Preschool staff hold dual degrees in Early Childhood Teaching & Primary School Teaching, exemplifying their commitment to quality education.
What sets us apart is our team's genuine passion, unwavering care, and a strong work ethic that emphasizes our center's role as a genuine Early Learning Centre, not a mere babysitting service. Our educators are deeply involved, actively engaging with children both individually and in small groups, fostering intentional learning experiences. They observe and document children at play, curate the learning environment, collaborate with fellow adults, and provide enriching learning spaces that actively engage children in their educational journey.
Furthermore, our educators are meticulous, purposeful, and reflective in their planning, documentation, and evaluation of children's learning experiences, aligning seamlessly with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
In our pursuit of inclusive education and preparing children for the transition to Primary School, Moore Park ELC strives to create a stimulating environment. We encourage exploration, connections, and self-guided learning, valuing each child's voice in their learning journey towards becoming confident and competent learners.
Our school readiness program is meticulously designed to progressively develop skills and confidence for the educational journey ahead. Through a wide range of experiences, we nurture social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Safety is paramount, and we incorporate themes like road safety, people safety, fire safety, sun safety, and nutrition.
In terms of literacy, we implement the Prelit program, focusing on phonological awareness and oral language development through structured storybook reading. For numeracy, we draw from the Singapore Maths program, honing problem-solving skills integral to our learning approach.
Individual Journals serve as a comprehensive record of your child's growth and experiences at Moore Park Children’s Early Learning Centre. They document skills acquired, play situations, and meaningful interactions, offering insights into your child's interests and preferences. These journals guide our approach, ensuring tailored experiences that meet and extend upon your child's unique needs.
At Moore Park Children’s Early Learning Centre, we wholeheartedly embrace The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Through play-based experiences and a conducive environment, we facilitate learning and developmental milestones. Play, as advocated by the EYLF, serves as a vital context for learning, enabling children to explore ideas, solve problems, make connections, and engage with others.
Literacy and numeracy are seamlessly integrated into our approach, with children immersed in hands-on, practical experiences. For instance, during shop play, children handle play money and utilize a cash register, engaging with counting, addition, and subtraction. Cooking activities involve pretend reading and writing of recipes, fostering essential pre-reading and writing skills.
Our educators create an environment that encourages children to learn, play, and explore, promoting holistic development in social, language, physical, and creative domains. We are committed to providing a nurturing space, akin to a home away from home, where parents and educators collaborate to enhance a child's learning and well-being.
New Learning Framework for Early Childhood Education
New Learning Framework for Early Childhood Education
We've designed the Early Years Learning Framework for quality education in early childhood. It's a crucial time for your child's development.
The Framework emphasizes play-based learning, aiming for engaged and lifelong success.
It guides educators working with children from birth to five, in partnership with families. Programs are tailored to children's ideas, interests, strengths, and play-based learning.
Dimensions of Childhood:
- Belonging: Fostering fulfilling lives through strong relationships in family, community, culture, and place.
- Being: Encouraging play and exploration, vital in childhood.
- Becoming: Nurturing learning and identity formation for future adulthood.
Play is central. It allows children to explore, understand, and communicate with the world. Educators facilitate play through well-designed activities and stimulating environments.
Secure relationships with caring adults optimize learning. Emotional security fosters exploration and skill development.
The Framework is implemented across various early childhood settings. Developed and tested by experts, it prioritizes your child's learning. Educators collaborate with you to understand and build on your child's interests and abilities.
Observation drives progress. Educators listen, watch, and engage with your child to plan next steps. Regular updates and visual aids track your child's learning journey.
Preparing your child for school transition, educators compile valuable insights for their new teacher. This ensures a seamless continuation of learning.
Collaboration between parents and educators enriches a child’s learning and well-being. Your involvement bridges home experiences with their time in early childhood settings.
