Guardian Childcare & Education Gungahlin is rated as exceeding in the National Quality Standard, and it’s not hard to see why. As one of six leading childcare Centres in and around Canberra, Guardian Gungahlin boasts a range of exciting, resource-rich environments.
The light-filled Centre includes an indoor/outdoor program, herb and vegetable gardens, woodwork areas, forts, worm farms, a bark pit, repurposed materials and natural play structures, as well as a sustainability program which teaches the children about the world around them.
The Teachers and Educators at Guardian Gungahlin provide wonderful learning programs for the children, including a leading Preschool Program for those preparing for the transition to primary school. In addition, we are proud to have a culturally diverse team who celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays throughout the year, organise a range of fundraising events for the children to be involved in.
Take a look on our Learning Exchange at some of the exciting experiences the Teachers and Educators at Guardian Gungahlin regularly create for the children. Highlights include the children creating their own mini café and experimenting with balloons and learning about static electricity!
Children at Guardian Gungahlin get out and about on excursions, so we have a great connection with the local Canberra community. We regularly visit the local library, Bunnings, shops, a nearby nature reserve, and the local college, which we have a great relationship with.
Our on-site cook, Sonya – prepares five nutritionally balanced meals using seasonal ingredients every day. The children and Educators often collect herbs and vegetables from the gardens to add to the daily meals and use in cooking classes. We also host regular family breakfasts at the Centre.
