As part of its commitment to high quality care and learning, the centre invites parents and families to speak with educators about their children’s activities, interests and learning outcomes at any stage. Families are also invited to take part in cultural celebrations and other events throughout the year.

Lighthouse Early Learning acknowledges that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important in their development. It values every new child experience as a chance to grow and learn, and it has built a curriculum that supports children’s physical, mental and emotional growth. 

The educators observe children’s play and learning styles, and plan play-based activities that are fun, challenging and engaging. Educators use the Early Years Learning Framework in partnership with families to also create tailored programs with strong learning outcomes. These include:

• Science - Experiment, Observe, Measure, Cause and effect
• PreLit - a skills-based, early literacy preparation program developed by Macquarie University
