We've been working on a series of enhancements to Child Care Vacancy Alert, our real-time messaging system that lets parents know as soon as a provider in their preferred locations updates their vacancy information.

These enhancements go live this week, but before going into detail about them here's a reminder of how Child Care Vacancy Alert works and how you can use it to fill vacancies and boost your position in our search rankings.

How does Child Care Vacancy Alert work for parents?

To get started with Child Care Vacancy Alert, all parents need to do is register their family’s child care requirements including:

  • The age of child/ren,
  • Where they need care,
  • What type of care they require,
  • What days they need care,
  • When they need care to start, e.g. as soon as possible or on a set date and
  • How services can contact them.

The next step is to choose their preferred Child Care Vacancy Alert Level – Basic or Pro.

Once parents have registered we share their Child Care Vacancy Alert with service providers in their preferred areas, and when a vacancy becomes available services simply need to contact parents to let them know.

With our new and improved Child Care Vacancy Alert service, parents will be sent real-time text alerts and emails whenever vacancies matching their requirements are posted.

Parents can then choose to contact the service to arrange a tour or to accept the place.
