Babysitter / Nanny Safety Concerns
No screening processes and checks can be risky

A recent article in the Sunday Telegraph highlighted the dangers for babysitters, nannies and au pairs advertising their services and contact details on babysitting sites that anyone can join:

Sunday Telegraph: "YOUNG girls looking for babysitting work on job websites are being preyed on by sleazy men seeking nude models or sexual favours …Girls as young as 17 are posting their photos, names and contact details on classifieds site…"

There is no doubt that advertising child care services or employing carers based on information supplied directly between these individuals via a website or email correspondence and with no third party screening process can be risky business.

Not only do we take the security and care of children seriously we also are concerned about the carers' welfare and that is why CareforKids.com.au's policy is to only list carers that are registered through a reputable agency and have been agency screened, police and reference checked.

You may have to pay a few extra dollars to go through an agency, but you have peace of mind that the person you're hiring or (if you're a carer) your potential clients are all above board and both the carer's and children's safety and wellbeing is ensured as far as absolutely possible.
