About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Our curriculum includes a mix of large and small group experiences that help to build the children’s leadership and communication skills. Through interactive and hands-on activities, the children develop a sense of their unique selves and a feeling of belonging.
The curriculum aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework and the preschool program helps to prepare the children for the transition to school. The educators invite participation, research, inquiry and exploration from the children so they can drive their own learning and develop important critical thinking skills.

Nurturing Young Minds for Over 16 Years
Anderson Road Child Care Centre respects and values all children and families from diverse socio-economic, linguistic backgrounds. We acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians of Sunshine Victoria- The Wurundjeri and Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. We embrace all ways of connecting our children to the land and nature and it is our goal that every child will feel the acceptance, care, security, and a sense of belonging in the environment they live and grow in- Anderson Road Child Care Centre.
Enhancing children’s learning and growth is a shared responsibility between families and educators. Our early childhood program aims to support children’s health and wellbeing.
By not only observing and interacting meaningfully with children, we work in collaboration with families (because we know that families know their children best), to ensure that our dedicated team of enthusiastic educators will have a better understanding of the children’s needs, interests, strengths, weaknesses, and potentials. This shared, and observed information will guide the educators in developing an inclusive, responsive and individualised learning program for our unique children. Each child develops and grows differently. And here, this uniqueness is embraced and when needed, early intervention is sort to give our children the best head start into the world.
Through playful, rich exploratory indoor and outdoor activities, our educators will support all children’s wellbeing through empowering them to become competent and confident learners. Our stimulating curriculum will promote the children’s interests, curiosity, interactions, positive self-esteem, decision-making, and basic life-long skills. Each day spent at our Centre, is a day children will be exposed to new experiences and role modelling, new friendship opportunities and problem solving challenges. Our rich play based experiences nurture curious minds in a safe and sustainable setting. Our prized educators do not only motivate the children to enjoy active, healthy habits; Children are encouraged to appreciate nature and to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Our early learners discover their emerging identity as they build on communication, positive relationships and connections with their families, other children, educators and their community.
Management recognises that educators are significant change agents in the children’s learning and ongoing development. Anderson Road Child Care Centre fully supports educators ongoing professional growth and development by providing them with opportunities in training, workshops, further courses, mentoring and coaching. We trust and support a team that supports all aspects of a childs physical, emotional, social, cognitive, linguistic, creative and spiritual being.

What the parents say
What the parents say
Morning,
I just thought I would send through some of our experiences about why we find Anderson Road Childcare so amazing.
It felt like a ‘home’
We’d viewed one popular childcare centre in the area before we looked at Anderson Road. What really appealed to me was how Anderson Road is presented as a traditional childcare centre, bright colours, lots of toys and feels like a home. Something very traditional and unlike more modern-day care centres that just felt a bit clinical. Which was important to us when enrolling our then 9-month-old because we felt like it was a very familiar setting. Then in comparison the older kids rooms start to look and feel more like a school, but with a really welcoming feel about them.
The Staff
The staff are all so incredibly warm and welcoming and that’s long before I knew how long so many of the employees like Thuy and Tom had been there! I think it’s an incredible selling point to know that you still have employees who have been there as long as the centre. The employees again make it feel like a home away from home – because you can tell that they all genuinely love being there and really care for the children and their development. I love to see that the staff cuddle the kids! Aidee has also started accidently calling me ‘Thuy’, which I find very funny and clearly goes to show how much she thinks of her 😃
The outdoor space
The size of the outdoor space is incredible – especially compared to so many other local ones! We love the multiple outdoor areas that are designed for different age ranges. So, the little ones can explore the outdoors with toys and play equipment that’s perfect their age and ability. The veggie patches are also great, with the girls pointing out what each plant is. A lot of my friends struggled to find a local centre with a decent outdoor space. It’s such a shame that by the frontage of the building - the outdoor space is so hidden. We were so surprised at how much outdoor space there was and how big the centre was in general because it looks so small from the outside!
Multi-Cultural
So many different cultures and so many different celebrations from each. I love that our girls get to learn so much about different cultures and on that note myself!
Education
It blows my mind how much our eldest is learning since she’s joined Kinder. She loves practicing the sounds of letters, not only counting but counting backwards, writing her name, the alphabet and pointing out letters in words. Several times I have walked in on story time and although we read regularly to the girls at home, they are so transfixed by the story telling time I love to stand back and watch them get so invested in the stories they are hearing. I also love hearing my girls try to re-create some of the stories they have heard or point out a book in the library and tell me that they have read it in care.
Food
This was again something I didn’t know when we first enrolled, but I was so impressed to find out that you had a dedicated chef! This might be typical for childcare centres (I have no idea). The food is always a really big hit with our girls, and they eat so many different meals that at home they’d refuse to try something new. Tom’s Pumpkin Soup in particular is my eldest favourite and even my attempts at recreating it apparently don’t match Tom’s fantastic cooking 😃.
