‘I firmly believe that happy staff create happy classrooms, and happy classrooms create happy children.
As Centre Manager, it gives me a great sense of security knowing that the management is so supportive and has the children’s best interest at heart.’
-Rajveer Shinh, Centre Manager, Daystars Bardwell Valley.
Health and nutrition
Health and nutrition
With a ‘no junk food’ policy, the centre’s in-house chef focuses on healthier options while also catering for any allergies, intolerances, cultural preferences or food requirements. The centre’s six week rotating menus are specially designed and planned to meet the nutritional requirements of the NSW Health Nutrition Checklist.
Through regular cooking experiences, the centre introduces important life skills of health and safety, healthy eating habits, nutrition, and hygiene.
Educators promote skills such as turn taking and sharing through modeling healthy eating experiences, and involving children in meaningful discussions during mealtimes and cooking activities.
Some of the children’s favourite meals include Singapore noodles with chicken and vegetables, and sausages with vegetables, mash potato and whole meal bread. For their snacks, they love toasted raisin bread, and the fresh fruit platter with yoghurt.
