About the curriculum
6 weeks - 2 years
The educators pride themselves on providing a warm, nurturing home away from home for each child. They collaborate with parents and work alongside them to provide an extension of the home routine for each baby. The educators will develop, support, and enhance each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive learning as they plan experiences for the children based on their interest and needs.
2 years - 3 years
The educators provide an environment that is inclusive, warm and secure for each child. The highly trained and enthusiastic educators will respond to children’s ideas in play, follow their evolving interests and extend upon their learning. The toddlers have the opportunity to grow their independence, create friendships with others and learn new life skills. The children enjoy the centre’s fun phonics program, large construction areas, as well as music and movement activities.
3 years - 4 years
The educators offer an inquiry based and play based learning environment that promotes children to use open-ended questioning, predicting, explaining, shared thinking and problem solving supported by a diverse range of learning materials to extend and enhance the children’s ideas and interests. The children prepare for their school readiness journey but also with the skills and strategies to support a love of lifelong learning. The children enjoy the focussed literacy and numeracy program, investigations, research and project-based experiences, and other activities within literacy, numeracy, science, creative arts, health and wellbeing and sustainability.
4 years - 6 years
The preschool programs are run by experienced university qualified teachers and offer each child a range of stimulating and thought provoking opportunities to grow and develop in all areas, ensuring that preparation for school is at the forefront of the curriculum. This will ensure that the children will be able to challenge and extend their own thinking, understand various concepts, create new knowledge and are given opportunities to enhance their skills and learn to value a love of lifelong learning. The educators take a holistic approach to teaching and learning and focus on children’s physical, personal, social, emotional and cognitive development and wellbeing. The centre’s transition to school program includes school orientation visits and various incursions, lunch box weeks and school uniform week, to ensure that each child develops the necessary independence and self-help skills to assist with their school transition.

Health & nutrition
At Prepare Early Education St Ives, the children enjoy healthy and delicious food prepared onsite by a fully qualified cook each day. All special diets such as vegetarian, fish, nut, gluten and dairy allergies are catered for, as well as cultural or specific health needs.
The meals are cooked onsite by the centre chef and their partnership with Pro Bros means they can provide children with the best quality produce and an abundance of in-season produce sourced directly from local farmers.
Meals provided at the service will provide at least 50% of a child’s recommended daily dietary requirements. Educators promote and support families to develop healthy eating habits for children in conjunction with programs such as NSW Health’s Munch & Move and Get Up & Grow.
The children enjoy healthy lunches such as shepherd’s pie with seasonal vegetables, roast lamb with roast veggies, beef and broccoli stir fry with rice noodles, or butter chicken with peas and rice. For their snacks, they enjoy toasted wholemeal wraps with roast veggie dip, fruit smoothies, fresh corn on the cob, or homemade muffins.

Morning
Maddy is four and a half years old and loves to begin her day in the home corner with her friends.
